Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve updated my blog and there’s been some pretty significant changes.
I got a dog named Spirit! I’ve had Spirit for just over a week and it’s been fantastic, he’s a lovely labrador/retriever mix and is just over a year old. He loves cuddling, going on walks, and chewing apart his toys. I’ve been waiting for so many years to get my own dog and it felt like there would never be the right dog or the right time but things fell into place with this one. Spirit came into my life at the perfect time and I couldn’t be happier with how amazing he’s been doing.
As it is Thanksgiving I’ve had some time to reflect on this last year/few months. If I had to summarize these past few months I would say it was a season of change and growth. I’ve had amazing support from family and friends throughout these months as I’ve moved out, struggled with mental and physical health and now have a lovely dog to help me navigate the next journey of life.
Lesson from the Shelter: Take time to appreciate and thank those around you, frequently we get so busy in our day to day life that we forget to thank those around us who help build us up. In our shifts at the shelter it’s a task that could not be done without every single one of the amazing volunteers and staff, take time to appreciate those around you and let them know what they mean to you.
